Α5 - Temporary exhibition

The temporary exhibition of CCEM is courtesy of Vassilis Damilakos. The private collection of mr. Vassilis Damilakos includes glazed works of art, glazed dishes, vases and amphorae, the so-called “OXYAL”, manufactured at the laboratories of Chemical Fertilizer Company SA, Kerameikos, Kütahya   of Athens and Ikaros of Rhodes. Additionally, there are ceramic objects from Mytilene, the Balkans, Cyprus and Çanakkale. Furthermore, the list grows bigger with a series of akrokerama, characteristic elements of the neoclassical style that was adopted in the architecture of buildings in the late 19th century.

His activity as a collectors pans over 40 years and is prompted by his love for art itself, as well as for the preservation of its creations. Offering his private collection is an act of gratitude to the land that gave him the gift of an education for a decent life. It is dedicated to his parents and mrs. Akrivi Karatzali – Kapetanaki, his teacher at the Old Girls’ School, because she contributed in shaping his character.
