Exhibitions

The permanent exhibition of the CIIEM consists of about 160 items and is constantly enriched. Some of these items date back to the 19th century. The collection includes tools for processing stone, honey, oil and wheat, objects used in everyday domestic life, public documents, handwritten letters and manuscripts of local poets, tools of professionals from Gytheion and the wider region of Eastern Mani, as well as objects from the old Girls’ School (old desks, school uniforms, etc.).

But beside the permanent collection, other collections, with different themes, are periodically hosted as well. Collections of ceramics and glassware, African masks and statuettes are just a few examples.
