Β73 - A group of shallow artificial ponds, used for salt production

The climate in Mani is typical of the Mediterranean climate: mild and rainy winters, relatively warm and dry summers. Mani’s coast is fairly rocky. Sea water gets trapped in the natural large basins of the rocks. It either evaporates naturally by the strong sun and the warm summer breezes or it is transferred by the salt producer to another basin.
