023 - Andiron

AN ANDIRON or trivet was a mobile tripod that reached 25-30 cm in height. It was placed on the fire and served as a base for casseroles and pots, in which housewives prepared the food daily. This andiron belonged to the grandmother of the donor, Triantafylli Michalakakou.
