089 - Iron plowshare

THE PLOWSHARE was a metal spike mounted at the bottom edge of the plow and was used to open grooves for seeding. It was usually made by strΕΕΤ craftsmen and later by organized blacksmiths. It, also, had symbolic use: the plowshare or some other metal object was put at the entrance of each house, so that the bride would step on it, when she entered her new home, and be strong as an iron.
