096 - Bridle

THE BRIDLE was a leather accessory that was placed in the mouth of horses and mules and was applied to their head. Bridles allowed riders to control the course and speed of the animal. It consisted of a strip that passed on top of the head of the animal and was placed on its forehead with another vertical band with mounted beads. A thin chain attached to the halter penetrated the mouth of the animal, while another chain or rope ended in the hands of the rider.
