We, the team working at the CIIEM, welcome you.

The Centre for Information and Interpretation of Eastern Mani would like to thank all sponsors and supporters for their invaluable contribution. Thanks to their generous sponsorship we can organize exhibitions that inspire, offer schools and families a multifaceted educational program, and exhibit our permanent collections to the public.

The CIIEM collection was created with items offered by local people, friends and supporters of Mani. The donors responded to the invitation of Eastern Mani Municipality to contribute to the creation of the CIIEM collection by donating or lending personal items and family heirlooms. The exhibits were collected through mobilization, awareness and love for Mani.

The donors to the CIIEM are presented on the constantly updated list below.

The Centre of Information and Interpretation of Eastern Mani is housed at the old Girls’ Schoolin Gytheio. It is a one floor listed building, at Panagiotarou Venetsanaki square, in the heart of Gytheio.

The old Girls’ School has always been an integral part of city life for the residents of Gytheio. It was built in 1891, when Doctor Vasileios Kalkandis was Mayor of the city, and is allegedly the work of the famous Bavarian naturalized Greek architect and engineer, Ernst Ziller.
