053 - Shuttle

SPECIAL PART of the loom used for passing the weft through the threads of the warp. It consists of a flat stick of about 20 cm, oval and open in the middle, and a needle that allowed attachment to the thread. The alternating movement of the shuttle formed the basic weaving of the textile.
